I overpronate, so it’s important to have medial support in a shoe for me. Even though the material insole was comfortable, I could tell just by looking down that my arch collapsed immediately just standing in the shoe. I ended up going with a pair that had more stability control and returned this pair. Other than that, the shoe was cute and could have been comfortable.

These are super cute shoes but horrible for comfort…no toe support…it’s weird, by the end of the day my feet kill in these and my toes hurt the worst, not sure if it’s the mesh top and not enough support – I have tried multiple days and same result and end up wearing my old shoes and now need to find a new shoe…ugh..

If you are overweight and walk for exercise (meaning you walk as fast as possible for as long as possible), you won’t get enough cushioning from a walking shoe. My walking workouts consist of 3 miles, 3 times a week, on concrete surfaces. I walk as fast as possible, meaning there is more impact on my foot than there would be with casual walking. I’ve tried several times to use these for my walking workouts, but they do not provide adequate cushioning for my needs.
However, I highly recommend Skechers running shoes if you are an overweight walker. I currently use a pair of Go Run shoes for my walking workouts and they are a huge step up, in terms of cushioning, from the typical walking shoe. My only recommendation is to add some type of heel cushioning (I use soft rubber heel cups), as running shoes are designed for a different type of foot strike, leaving an overweight walker feeling as though the heel isn’t cushioned enough.
As for these GoWalk shoes, I wear them for casual walking (shopping, doing errands, etc.) and they are perfectly adequate for that use. I love the style and the color, but I cannot wear my usual cushioned athletic socks in these shoes, as the fit is too tight. If you want to wear cushioned athletic socks with these shoes, I recommend going up a half size.
I hope this review helps others like me who walk for exercise and have difficulty finding shoes with adequate cushioning to support excess weight. For people of normal weight, or those who do not walk for exercise, the shoes will be just right. Otherwise, take a look at any of the Skechers performance running shoes. Your feet will thank you.

I read the reviews before buying these and bought them half a size larger. I’m so glad I did. Half a size larger fit perfectly! I love the design and the sole cushioning. I was looking for good walking shoes and these delivered! I would even buy them again.

I overall feel any Skechers brand I try I enjoy the style, comfort and they also wear well! I will probably never buy a different brand because once I find a comfortable shoe that makes my feet feel well I stay with this selection. I highly recommend also, because they ship fast, arrive when expected, and a cute added feature is sending along a couple added surprises with shipment! You just can’t go wrong with these shoes!

These Go Walk 5 – Alive shoes are comfortable and felt very good the minute I put them on. I have been wearing 7.5 Skechers and determined that they were too short for my feet, so I wanted to try the 8M and it fit perfectly. Room in the toe, but not a lot, and very comfortable flexible sole which I must have. The foot bed is cushioned nicely and the pattern on the sole helps me feel stable when walking. I wish they came in more colors because I would buy more!

These shoes fit me perfectly and are super comfortable. I had to return two other Skechers sneakers because they had little quirks in the styling which were uncomfortable (no heel notch and a stiff collar). These sneakers did not have those issues and I am quite pleased with them. I wish Zappos had them in other colors because I would buy more.

I really liked the weight and color combination, black and aqua. The size was right 8.5, but with an ankle sock they were too narrow in the toe box. I ordered another pair of “go walk” shoes in wide width but they are too wide. Now I have two pairs of shoes to return.
