Not as easy to slip into as my others. I ordered these for the thicker soles. But I need to loosen the laces in order to get my feet inside. Then I need to bend over to tighten up the laces .
Defeats the purpose.

-Background: My foot width in Skechers appears to be B(M), even though in high heels I always have to go up a half size. My arches are average, not fallen and not high. My foot length measures ~25.1cm. Skechers advises that you add 0.5cm to the foot length, and then find the size on their foot chart. Their 8.5 matches with 25.5 after that addition, and I went over by 0.1. I chanced it anyway, even though the 8.5 B(M) in Skechers Performance Women’s Go Walk 3 was on the short size for me (width was fine).
-Comparison to the Original Skechers Shape-Ups: I was interested in the Max Cushioning shoes because customers said it felt similar to the original Skechers Shape-Ups. I owned the original Shape-Ups in 8 B(M) in white. I suspect these Max Cushioning shoes might be similar to the 2.0 Shape-Ups, because I couldn’t see any similarity to the originals. There is no rocking movement where you can easily rock onto your toes and then back onto your heels. There is no risk of accidentally falling backwards or forwards because the sole is nowhere near as curved – in fact, it seems quite flat apart from the slight curvature at the heel and toe. Since the heel curvature at the back bottom of the shoe is not as curved as the original Shape-Ups, it makes walking feel like a bit more of an effort in comparison. Because of that reduced curvature and the size of the platform, these shoes take some effort to move about in. If you’re healthy, you’ll adjust just fine. I have a pair of the WorkOut Walker (Outpace) on the way because those shoes with the HyperArc curvature have also been compared favourably to the Shape-Ups.
-My Thoughts on the Max Cushioning Shoes: The length and width of these shoes are perfect with my foot dimensions described above. The cushioning is absolutely amazing, like walking on clouds. I used Dr. Scholl’s Sports insoles in my Shape-Ups, but I haven’t needed them in these Max Cushioning shoes. I also love the 2″ height – I can’t feel the ground through the soles. I have not worn these shoes for very long (under 20 minutes at a stretch so far), so I don’t know how they’ll feel in terms of arch support when worn for a prolonged period. I will be wearing these on two long-haul flights soon, so I’m putting all my hopes on them! The stiff Slip-In back is one of my favourite things ever, because while I love the look of laces over loafers, I hate tying my laces. I appreciate that these Slip-Ins have functional laces to allow you to adjust the fit necessary. I also like the fact that these shoes come with padded collars and tongues. This is incredibly important to me, as they make it possible to wear the shoes without needing to break them in. The shoes that have the knitted stretch upper are painful if you’re not wearing socks. I found that the material of the knitted upper was rough and chafed my skin off. Skechers seems to be pushing that technology and reducing the beautifully padded collars, which is disappointing because it limits the selection I can choose from.
-Final Thoughts: I bought the Mystic Passion Max Cushioning shoes in Black/White, and I loved it so much that I immediately bought a backup, along with another set in Grey. I wish there were more colours to choose from, because I am that obsessed with these shoes. If my thoughts resonate with you, then these shoes are probably a safe bet for you. I would highly recommend them, and the three pairs that I rapidly accumulated are a testament to that!
Debbie –
I wear these shoes every day. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. Wore them non stop at Disney World and my feet were still happy at the end of the day. Love these shoes.
Rebecca –
I really like the shoes but they are just a little small. I wear and ordered a 6.5 and my toes hit the inside of the shoe. I plan to return these for size 7.
Mom –
These are not easy to slip-in. They also have laces to tie, photo is not accurate. I was disappointed.
Too L –
I intentionally bought the “slip-ons” for a couple of reasons. First, the convenience of how easy it is to put them on, and 2nd the sleek look of no floppy laces…So I was a bit bummed when these shoes arrived with floppy laces. Not the end of the world, I tied them in a knot in hopes that I will never have to tie them again. But, as always, I love my Skechers!
L. J –
I loved these shoes, but my feet are hard to fit and they were too tight on the top of my foot. However, I was able to return them and it was a great experience! I was able to find a different style and they are fantastic! I have an issue with my right leg and the slip-in shoes are such as great help. I love the pillow in the back, they do not slip. I have another brand of hands free shoes and they slip with every step. These are wonderful!
Disappointed –
These shoes are not slip in unless you a larger size. Too clunky for my taste, but comfortable to wear.
Anonymous –
They fit ok but not loving the heel support
Mary –
Wearing these shoes almost daily!
Shoeholic –
I wear these for work. I am in my feet and moving all day. I had previously worn Dansko clogs for years. I loved them but I wanted to try something breathable. I definitely wanted slip ins. These are so comfortable. I feel supported. My feet can breathe. I love that these are machine washable. These are my new “go to” work shoe.
Reybz –
Feel great can handle all day wear which I use for work.
Sally –
I have nerve damage in my feet & toes from recent back surgery. These shoes are so easy to put on, cushioned & comfortable to wear from the git go. No breaking in needed. Love the extra touch of the bow to resemble other tennis shoes. Definitely buy again!
BJ –
I wear them for comfort for my feet, back and hips. I work in a dirty atmosphere so I really like the black on black.
Olgs –
I purchased this as excercise walking shoes as an employee of the store indicated they were
I love the convenience of it being slip on, but the are hard not at all for extensive walking excercise.
Shelly –
Very comfortable and easy to slip into
Ingrid –
Will be used exclusively for Treadmill workout.
B –
So glad I purchased
Happy C –
These will be my daily sneaker. They are just too comfortable to keep in closet. My feet deserve the max cushion. I need to get more.
Shay –
I recently had reconstructive back surgery. I can not bend. These shoes are perfect. I did loosen the laces a little bit when I first got the shoes to make the slip on easier. Excellent for walking.
Elo –
I wear it to work everyday, assisting customer in self checkout, very comfortable.
Petra –
I am SUPER picky about shoes. It is very difficult for me to find something comfortable to wear all day. I love that I can slip into them but they still have support and are not too tight on my high instep. I normally don’t like slip ins because they feel sloppy, these do not feel sloppy at all. Plus they have a very nice cushion and make walking fun again. I definitely recommend these for anyone with plantar fasciitis! They also look good. Black on black so I can wear them to work and not look too casual
Deb24 –
I hope to re-start my daily walking after being on a cane for almost 3 years and unable to walk very far.
VH –
This is a good looking shoe and felt good as long as I stood still. When I walked the “heel pillow” slid up and down my heel. This was a deal breaker.
Diane –
I just didn’t like style of shoe
